Another thing to consider: classical music barely has any percussion. Grimes put a lot of thought on percussion, her drum programming is godlike. Her awesome perscussion combined with her synth melodies, basslines and vocal melodies make her music more complex than Mozart. Mozart's pieces sound sparse in comparision to her intricate tunes that have a lot of elements going on.

Been following her music for a while now and it's pretty catchy. I think most of this thread devolved into arguments about whether or not she's a genius.

I don't think she's ever claimed to be a genius, nor do I think she goes out there trying to be one. Fact of the matter is that she's successful. She's been signed under JayZ's label and so he clearly sees something in her that captain Mega Cuck, who has been commenting in this thread, clearly doesn't.

She's toured around the world, reached acclaim in many countries and has a rather healthy following. I don't think there's any argument that she's a successful artist. Whether or not she's a genius, again, up for debate and I don't think it's an argument worth having.

(continued due to length) Her music, from my experience, is quite unique and catchy. She has seemingly studied a lot of how to get her songs to be as catchy as possible. Or as she puts it "Immediately gratifying" which they tend to be.

Her earlier work is more experimental, while ner newer work tends to gravitate to being more accessible and mainstream. Many of her old fans don't seem to like the newer stuff because of the above. I think it's fine because it's branching her out into more audiences and gaining her more success.

Like it or not, she's come up from nothing and become a hell of a successful artist, mostly, from what I gather, of her own efforts. Most of what she has produced seems to not be derivative so it's easy to listen to. It doesn't suffer repeat fatigue like many artists, even some of my favorites, as after a while they get boring.

In any case, continue fighting the good fight Mega Cuck. She's awesome, and many like her. You're on your own fighting this fight. I ask you, why do you not just move on and find something else to do while we go ahead and chime in about this artist?

The work, as a whole, is enjoyable. That's what we're here to do. Enjoy music. Like her or hate her, she's successful. Find something you can be successful at.
