I'd like to start a real conversation about the album, Animals, by Pink Floyd.
Regardless of your opinion of the band, this album is an interesting concept with homage to Mr. Orwell's Animal Farm.
What I have come to gather from this work, is that Dogs enforce the laws that Pigs contrive, and the Sheep (the majority) accept and live by the rules. However, the Sheep rise up and kill the Dogs (i.e. Communist revolution of Russia), but...
"Have you heard the news?
The dogs are dead!
You better stay home
And do as you're told
Get out of the road if you want to grow old."
The pigs still retain power. Stalin was the dictator that lead the Soviet Union, even though this totally defeated the purpose, but that's the point.
My conclusion is that you are either one of three things: Dogs, Pigs, or Sheep. And no matter what, the Pigs will always retain power. Even dogs need shelter from Pigs on the wing.
I'd like to hear other's thoughts and analysis of the album, or simply criticizing mine.
discuss the music you turbopleb.
who cares what aesthetic bait facade they used that time as an envelope for their music.

so, who the fuck are pigs then?

The leaders/super wealthy? I want to say politicians, but Dogs fit the role somewhat as well. I'm not sure
Consumers, enforcers, and the governing
Dogs and Sheep are established to fight, both of them being severely flawed human beings. Dogs normally kill sheep, but sometimes the sheep rise up. Still, though, the Pigs are something almost inhuman and always rule.
Any fool knows that a dog needs a home; a shelter from pigs on the wing.
Amazing album. One of the few I would call a 10/10. Songs longer than should legally be allowed. Guitar solos so awesome and a concept so cold that it's a wonder they pulled it off at all. Waters at his angriest. And all of it bookended perfectly by Pigs on the Wing I & II.

'The Pigs' don't exist, they are the humanity's massive plot against itself.
