tribal/ritual "metal" is the wrong word, OP meant tribal/ritual industrial, it's the percussive end of oldschool industrial with vague "world music" influences and a heavy focus on occultism

man that's my favorite album from the body and it has a lot of influences from dark ambient cause of it being produced by the haxan cloak but i dunno if it's as ritual focused as vasilisk. you should check out halo - body of light, primitive man - p//m noise tape, and Koreisch - This Decaying Schizophrenic Christ Complex for stuff in a similar vein

I recently found a google groups thread talking about this shit and this is a list from it that I've been exploring that was given in response to someone talking about muslimgauze:
I recommend that you also check into such bands as Crash Worship,
Raksha Mancham, Memorandum, COTA, Left Hand Right Hand, Takashi, Trance,
O Yuki Conjugate, Vidna Obmana, Onomatopia, Hitting Birth, Illusion of
Safety, Voice of Eye, and the ARRHYTHMIA and ARRHYTHMIA II compilations.
All of these bands are very rhythm oriented in a neo-tribalistic way
(some more than others) but I am sad to say, none have the intense
political messages as do Muslimgauze.
every band I've checked out from this list has been well worth it so far. Onomatopia has been impossible to find so far but apparently they were extremely local so that doesn't come as a shock. the arrhythmia compilations (all three) are especially interesting

all i could recommend to you is a kind of strange band called zhurong. more martial but apparently was on a split with enemite, and another weird band called Einstürzende Neubauten.

for whatever reason this is the only big name from the early industrial scene that I haven't put a lot of time into checking out, which is weird cause I tend to enjoy the percussive side of things and I've enjoyed what I've heard from them. I'll check that other band out, thanks dude.

if you're gonna sink any time into any of the one's i've mentioned in the thread make it deutsch nepal, everything I've heard from him has been mind blowing, he gets progressively more vocal over time so if you like/don't like his vocals bear that in mind

he was one of the two cofounders of cold meat industries, the other being brighter death now, I havn't heard him mentioned nearly as much as CMI or BDN though
