Alt metal? you mean fucking trash
>>71817859
alt-metal > glam > classic heavy metal > any other kind of "real" metal
>>71817951
How is glam better than anything? I dont understand.
>>71817964
glam is literally nu-male repellant
sorry you can't deal with lyrics about sex or outstanding musicianship

Warrant actually came out with a decent song in 2011

>>71818237
here at /altmetal/ we dont discriminate, just remember times past
how do you feel about /pol/ appropriating Type O's flag
>>71817535
Mushroomhead XX is just a compilation album of their first 3 albums with 60% of the songs missing and the rest were re recorded
Would not recommend XX

>>71819666
MUCC and Girugamesh seem to be the bigger ones, they're not bad
>>71819767
I always thought Girugamesh was just a meme from that Sakura-con ad. Never actually bothered to listen to any of their music. Thanks.

The only papa roach album I can stomach is infest, but holy shit, I lovr infest.
Slipknot's first album, Deftones' first two, and System of a Down's first album are all definitely worth checking out if you like their other works. All of them are far more experimental, gritty, and hardcore than their respective albums posted in this chart in my humble opinion.
>>71817535
I am new to this, only know/have Hybrid Theory and I primarily listen to shugazi and prog trance, but I try to be open minded. Where should I start?
What kind of metal were Sacred Reich and Corrosion of Conformity ?
>>71822660
Deftones' Saturday Night Wrist and White Pony to a lesser extent have some cool, ethereal and spacy sounds. Might resonate with your current interests. Also Diamond Eyes.
If you want straight Nu Metal, KoRn's self titled was pretty fundamental to the start of the genre.
But I'd stick around and hear what else people have to say. My advice may be shit.

Maybe Please Remain Seeded by Seeded Crown or Laced by Reveille. Both sort of obscure, heavy on the "nu", very raw and under produced.

Linkin Park was very unique and not very comparable to anyone else but heres some maybe
