Strangely enough Kevin Shields said in an interview that it's "sounds like rubbish on acid because it's too dense" and that it "wasn't meant to be listened to in headphones"

I also heard it is in mono but I don't know if it's true. I really recommend listening to Despondent Transponder by Fleeting Joys if you liked it.
