Obviously I've heard nothing but good things about them. Should I start with the widely celebrated Laughing Stock/Spirit of Eden or start from the beginning?
The former. And then listen to the Mark Hollis s/t

LS or Eden first?

Eden
no start with the Colour of Spring and then work your way up
I started with Laughing Stock (my favorite album of all time now) and worked my way backwards. I wish I would've started with their synth pop shit and worked my way to nirvana instead.
laughing stock
eden hasn't aged well

Eden is better than Laughing Stock IMO. They're both great though.

Both Laughing Stock and Spirit of Eden are overhyped meme albums and the real genius of Talk Talk is on the non-single parts of It's My Life and Colour of Spring.

i listened to LS first and it didn't click right way, but spirit of eden did. after i fell in love with eden, i understood laughing stock better. whichever one you listene to, i'd recommend listening while doing nothing else. i find that both albums really impact me when i can focus on them as much as possible.
