I've been listening to a lot of post-punk stuff lately but I feel like everything I hear (Chairs Missing, Pornography, Script of the Bridge, etc) is super close to being something I can really get into but not exactly

I've heard both this and Closer and had more or less the same opinion
Both of them have some absolutely stunning moments but overall are a little short of being something I'd come back to
