They were really good singers and the harmonies they created are extremely enjoyable to listen to imo. Sure most of their albums have filler but the good tracks are really fucking good. Brain's arrangement and production style are both very pleasant to listen to as well. In regards to >>71773371 most artists in the early 60's were doing this, and while some lines do sound dated now it's just a product of the time. They didn't sound cheesy back then to people I would imagine.

Pre-Pet Sounds a lot have filler, but at that time it was the standard to have a few hit songs and then a ton of other stuff knocked together to fill out the album. Part of the reason Pet Sounds is considered as good as it is is because it pioneered having all good tracks on an album. After Pet Sounds most of the filler was just tracks Mike forced onto the album.

Everything from their humble beginnings up to 1973 is GOAT.

After that they are only for die hard fans.
