seriously, tell me straight up how you would take your one six-string instrument that you've mastered (and a tone you've established as your signature sound), and create songs that are not at all similar to one another?

I mean, if you 'produce' then it's very easy to create different atmospheres and vibes with the songs, but if you're a 'musician' you're just gonna write songs on the instrument you know how to play.... which Mac does, and continues to write good songs that are heavily guitar-focused. His guitar work is quite understated, like he's actually a hell of a lot better at playing than people give him credit for...
