I kind of took a break from music last year, can someone give me a rundown of the best albums to have come out in 2016?
>>71704510
you might as well skip that year, nothing groundbreaking came out
>>71704510
Music has been dead since 2013 or so. The last year where anything substantial came out was 2015.
I've spent the last 18 months pouring over the classics and other old shit. It's a far less depressing than listening to what's coming out today.

Nothing groundbreaking has come out this entire millennium.

>tfw music didn't even last 110 years
>>71704510
What sort of music are you into generally?

>All inferior albums by artists whose best material was released years, if not decades ago
I have a hard time not believing >>71704813 to be the truth.
>>71705009
>Le wrong generation
Even if they had better material previously released, these albums are still all good and worth a listen.
>>71705009
untrue of half of those but okay
>>71705073
Oh, they sure were still good. But the fact that half the albums listed are by acts who have been around for decades is still indicative of a massive overall decline in the music world.
It's as if the Andrews Sisters were still culturally relevant in 1968, or if the Zombies or Yes were releasing AOTY contenders in the 1990's.
We're fixating on all of these releases by older acts because there's such a dearth of good music coming from anyone new.
