The trick to enjoy rap and trap is you have to like it ironically first. I started out listening and thinking "Haha these guys are hooligans, making open threats about gunning down your family" and I just thought all the stupid shit they say they're just joking about. I've yet to learn how to enjoy woe is me rappers like aseop rock

I just don't get the appeal. I love instrumental hip-hop, dub, and triphop but cannot stand 99% of rap

Pretty much the only rap I can stand is weird, experimental stuff like Dalek and Clippng. Everything else just doesn't appeal to me at all
