Hot Snakes - Audit in Progress is the closest to DLJ. With the first 2 Hot Snakes albums, the guitarist wrote the songs (music) and had the singer add vocal melodies/maybe a minor guitar part here or there to them later. On Audit, they wrote together.

Post punk and punk are two totally different genres. Punk was a simplistic, supposedly anti-establishment, although commercially successful and often catchy. Post punk actually did something with the genre, instead of power chords and playing out of tune instruments, and produced many classic albums. That being said, /mu/ loves post punk.
