I mean Face to Face -> Muswell Hillbillies is a good run but I don't think there's any chance in hell those albums are better than The Beatles' albums made in the same periods. The Kinks are kind of overrated these days because they were underrated back then.

They were definitely a singles band in the early days, though their first few albums have some underrated gems.
