Yeah either of those would work. I'd suggest White Pepper.

If you plan on listening to Pure Guava or GodWeenSatan at any point, just know that The Pod is the closest album to either of those, so if you want to prepare your ears for those albums you should familiarize yourself more with The Pod first.

La Cucaracha is an easy listen but the album is pretty lackluster compared to all their other albums, though it does have some good songs.

12 Golden Country Greats is petty goofy, so if you don't like the goofy aspect of Ween's music then it might not be a very enjoyable album.
