there's just not a lot of things going on with it thematically, thats how i would define "deep"
this >>71648705 is profound i suppose though most of the concepts it's supposed to encompass hunter only realy lays out on his website, his tumblr, in his interviews but he also said that this sort of context is supposed to act as a companion piece, so to speak, to the album which might be sort of a commentary on how extramusical content shapes listening experience/analysis anyways or something i guess
if not deep it's at least pretty convoluted

First of all, floods are very dense symbolically. The biblical connections - notions of rebirth, of sin and forgiveness, on the cyclical nature of life. Those are only the most obvious themes.

The lyrics on Part III are pretty much just window dressing. If you think that the meaning or the depth of the album comes from the 10 or so lines, I suggest you relisten to the album with a more open mind.

Yeah, but just because Floods are very dense symbolically does not mean that those meanings are what Boris has in mine. The music even sounds like it is representing a "flood" with a buildup to a torrent of sound to near emptiness. Adding any more meaning to that is done by the listener, not by the album itself.
