Just heard this for the first time. What are your thoughts on it?
I actually really like it. I think some QOTSA fans might think its a bit too soft at times, but imo that helps it

10/10 imo. I don't think there's one bad song on the album.

great for nu-rock

Thought they took a turn for suck town at Lullibies. Not a fan.

Great album. Not sure if I like it or Songs for the Deaf more.

One of my favorite QOTSA albums. I'm really excited to see what they come up with this year.

What is the best song on the album and why is it fairweather friends?

Jack could have been king.
>tfw queens will never make psychedelic stoner rock like s/t and rated r ever again

Why did it get weird?

The production is bland. It's like a smoothed out version of what they were doing on Vulgaris. The songs are a bland, derivative of basic classic rock stuff. The more experimental songs aren't nearly as good or as experimental as on past albums.
I really don't get why everyone likes this album so much. The self titled deluxe edition is probably the best thing they'll ever put out.

i fucking love this album, nothing super ground breaking but every song on the album is really solid and I really think the performances are super tight
I still never checked this album out.

That and Rated R are my favorites. I think Vulgaris is really good too.
Nothing gets me excited like "If Only", and "Regular John".

pretty good, I really like it
It's fantastic, one of their better albums, not their best, but almost certainly their most heartfelt. My only issue was that the song with all the cool features was the least interesting song on the whole album. None of them stood out and probably would have gone unnoticed if their names weren't in the liner notes. It's still an alright song, but what a waste of those features.
The album is definitely excellent though.
childhood is thinking songs for the dead is the best album

Enlightenment is coming to accept their self titled album was the pinnacle of their career
