Bullshit. Just because it's catchy it doesn't mean it's for the Top 40 crowd. To pretend that an album with such weird cover, weird singing, weird songs (Scream, anyone?) is for the mainstream crowd is simply foolish. BTW AA was for outside Top 40 and had exactly zero hits (check the chart positions).

Not so quickly, buddy. I know all her albums very well. AA is not for the Top 40 crowd, she never intended that. This is her modus operandi:

She wants to make meaningful and emotional pop music, something that it's clearly missing from Top 40. Your ordinary Top 40 fan would be confused by her music.
