Sounds of the Universe had some genuinely pleasant songs on it, but the tracklisting isnt the best, Its my favorite album from the last 4 that theyve put out.
also, wheres the love for the singles boxes? Some of those B sides and Remixes are fucking fantastic

Why does everyone love SOFAD so much, its such a cliche of 90s music, coming from their top two albums of all time, its such a disappointment. Heroin really fucked that up.

i agree it has some good songs on it, but that was the start of dave's shift in singing style. Im saying overall, the album has a few GREAT songs, and then the rest are meh, whereas on Violator, EVERY SONG was good, and then MftM, only 2 or 3 songs were meh.

I liked the blues vibe from it mixed with the dirty synth sounds and the songs where lyrically quite good I felt.

Fair enough, friend. I think it has some way better songs than SoTU (Welcome to my world, Angel, Heaven, Broken, Alone) but some far worse (The Child inside and Soft Touch/Raw Never in particular. I think Slow, My Little Universe, and Soothe My Soul are pretty bad too but I like them either way)

I don't really like Construction Time, and Ultra is just one of my faves, it's a really dark record that ends with a glimpse of faith or the realisation of some higher or greater good thing (The 'Gotta give love' makes me shiver everytiime) inside of you.
I didn't like it at first, mind you (used to really hate Barrel of a Gun). It took time and the right circumstance for me to love it.
