Can we have a slowcore general? /slow/ if you will. With the new interest (and memes) about Mark Kozelek, I hope some of that can spill into this wonderful genre.

Favorite album is probably The White Birch. Star Is Just a Sun (interestingly enough by a band also called The White Birch) is a favorite as well.
Listened to Carissa's Wierd's Songs About Leaving for the first time in forever and I forgot how good it was.
Hard to name a favorite group, maybe Duster because both of their albums (and Valium Aggelein) are top-notch.
I think we could see a small rebirth if the "gloomcore" sound catches onto more bands. Groups like Ambersmoke, and a lot of the Enemies List/Flenser bands incorporate slowcore elements into depressive shoegaze, usually with good results.
Been bumping the new Planning For Burial of course. I'd say it's better than Desideratum (more consistent) but still doesn't have the magic of Leaving.

Have y'all preordered the upcoming The New Year album yet?
Any slowcore/post-rock fusion? One of my favorite albums is Hex, which is tagged on RYMeme as slowcore

Half the genre is post-rock fusion lad
Start with In the Evenings of Regret by Grace Cathedral Park if you're a hardcore crescendo memester or try The For Carnation if you're a Slintfag

Yo nice. I've been trying to bring The New Year to the forefront here for a long time now but everyone prefers to listen to the same 5 slowcore bands. IMO The New Year are even better than Bedhead.

I definitely feel you, I definitely like The New Year better than Bedhead
