The New York punk scenes was shit, especially with the overrated Ramones, but the midwest produced some great great bands.

Now obviously the Stooges and related bands are top tier, like the MC5.

I'm currently going through the Asheton brothers work after the Stooges disbanded in 1972. Some of them is quite hard to find tbqh.
