When you get to "Songs for a Blue Guitar" it finally clicks that his MO is actually just to write a "classic rock song" but using the darkest sounding diminished chords, played slowly as possible.

Doesn't make it any less appealing though but the Led Zepplin/Doors/Smiths/Yes influence is obvious.

Took me ages to get into RHP as well though. Actually thought I'd never get into Rollercoaster, wasn't for me, ect. But like, it's one of those albums where its genius isn't immediately apparent. Like, it's only afterwards that you find yourself recalling these slow brooding riffs and realising that there's something deeper to it then you first imagined.
