Can all of music be placed on this chart?
Also post yours
Yes but only because those dimensions are incredibly broad terms

Red: Butt Metal
Blue: Super technical Math Rock
Green: Indie Pop/Twee
Purple: Twinklely Math Rock
>>71609718

>>71610975

>Blue: Super technical Math Rock
Four letter band names
Red: Coil
Blue: Korn
Green: Toto
Purple: Beck
>>71611015
>this isn't harsh and complex

Switch Coil and Korn so you don't look like a fucking retard
Saw the thumbnail and came into the thread hoping for an ebin political slapfight.
Anyway, where does prog fit?
>>71611282
Probably center : far right
>>71611282
Prog would be on the right, mostly nearing the bottom.
>>71611050
>korn and beck
>complex
??????
>>71611282
depends, king crimson would be more harsh and complex than pink floyd for example
but probably center and halfway to the right I'd say
I just realized there's an axis missing and the graph isn't complete
Depressing - Joyful(Euphoric?)
So the chart should 3D. I think that would make it complete
>>71611291
>>71611298
>>71611349
Red: Rush
Blue: King Crimson
Purple: Genesis/Yes
Green: Jethro Tull
Eh, not sure on Red. Rush is hardly prog in the first place.

>>71611217
Sounds really good, thanks anon
>>71610757
But post-punk is commie music
>>71611418
the red part is pretty unlike prog honestly. if it's fundamental then it's not jazzy / avant-prog, if it's harsh then it's not symphonic either
green could be pink floyd too desu
>>71611484
>Talking Heads
>either fundamental OR smooth
>>71611217
this is nice, thanks for posting
>>71611505
>Talking Heads
>complex or harsh
>>71611484
are you fucking stupid?
>>71611484
>elton john being technical
I cant tell if youre trying to be funny or just mentally ill
It's more complete now
>>71611564
>I have only heard two or three elton john songs: the post
>>71611549
I actually like this one, except mbdtf i think youre overrating that one a bit
>>71611567
Those are emotions and are subjective, really shouldnt be a part of it. What we have is fine because were dealing with non debatable qualities
>>71611592
Probably right
>>71611525
Something tells me you've never listened to Remain in Light or, really, any Talking Heads album.
>>71611623
>Remain in Light
>Harsh or Complex
I'll give you complex due to some structures, even tho technically they aren't complex at all. But harsh? Are we talking about the same Talking Heads?
>>71611592
You could say complexity is subjective too. Rythmic complexity or sonic? I think the general mood (happy/sad) of a song is often pretty clear. Often just as the artist intended. You could change it to consonance and dissonance so it's ""technical""
>>71611623
also: I could agree if by complexity you mean challenging to listen
>>71611791
Not even remotely funny
>>71611853
You'd be surprised how many people could actually like this on those /mu/ memes facebook pages
>>71611460
> hasn't listened to Yank Crime
Come on lad
>>71611549
>Yeezus and 808s
>complex
>>71611460
>>71611518
what the fuck has happened to /mu/ where people are new to drive like jehu?
>>71611454
Trout Mask isn't "complex" though, it's just fucking weird. different != complex
>>71612416
you're wrong
>>71612416
>being this pleb
Just because (You) don't understand it doesn't mean it looses all credibility.
>>71609718
Assuming the axiom of choice there exists a complete basis for any vector space. And assuming that harsh/smooth and fundamental/complex are perfect opposites then we got a subspace in the vector space of all possible descriptors of music.
