Any tips on switching from chord to chord? I am trying to teach myself how to play guitar and I'm having trouble on this.

some chords will have the same finger placement, so changing a C major to an A minor can be much easier since the index finger is at the same spot

Yes I do, learn chords with a root on the 6th, 5th and 4th string.

A shortcut for the G is to just use two fingers and blunt the A string with your middle finger. It sounds the exact same.
