I don't know why Nas and Will Smith were so tight in the mid 90s but it definitely helped to damage his credibility post-illmatic (despite It Was Written and most of the Firm material being held to high regard now I can tell you that at the time it was considered cookie cutter mafioso, at least where I was from in North jersey)

Oh don't get me started with Bad Boy and JM honestly Ready to Die was the only biggie album I enjoyed, and even then I didn't like it more than say Liquid Swords or The Sun Rises in the East
