It's just so jarring after him releasing masterpiece after masterpiece, he stopped this insane streak with Let's Dance. An album that was obviously pandering to the mainstream styles of music and audiences of that time period. It sounds dated because of that too. Bowie really did have an amazing streak of objectively great albums.
But in the 80's he sold out and his music became plebe bait, i dont think his fans even listen to never let me down.
Personally i think bowies worst album is hours.
Never let me down is actually saved by the title track, it actually is very john lennon like song.
