Nobody asked for this, but I will still do it
I'M LIVING IN A 21ST CENTURY
Nobody ask for my reply, but fuck you I'm doing it any way, they're a great band and I want people to know
>>71563440
lol kanye :P
Has Fripp ever mentioned how Talking Heads influenced him in interview?
Yeah me too
>>71563450
if you don't have it, I shared the 40th anniversary edition of ITCOTCK in the sharethread here >>71560711
lets get a few points out of the way first
>the drumming on itcotck and poseidon!
>greg lake was the best!
>robert fripp release your albums to stream!
>so influential
>*meme lyrics*
there. now we can get to actual discussion.
>>71563463
>'80s band influencing a '70s band
damn....
>>71563475
Anon, I'm afraid you've made a big mistake
>>71563426
and what the freak is that??
I love this live performance:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTQrlDzqUCA
>Adrian's pink suit and obviously having the time of his life anyway
>Robert obviously having been told to smile
>the fact fucking King Crimson are on Fridays of all programmes
>it's a great performance anyway
>>71563477
He was talking about Discipline. That album totally takes after Talking Heads
>>71563463
Well Fripp did play for Talking Heads....
>>71563572
Absolutely, but I also think it takes a lot from early XTC. Before Crimson did that Robert formed the League of Gentlemen with their keyboard player and there's a definite styilistic similarity between both even before Adrian was in the fold.
Discipline is their only good album
>>71563620
this but ironically
>>71563620
that's one weird way to spell Larks' Tongues in Aspic
>>71563620
>>71563843
That's a weird way of spelling "King Crimson have never released a bad album"
>>71563868
That blue album was pretty bad
>>71563868
I guess that's true, some of them are just worse than others but all are interesting and enjoyable in some way
the middle part of lizard is fucking garbage though, at least the opener and closer save it
>>71563868
Did you forget 2000's Crimson?
Anyone else going to the seattle show in june? I managed to score some floor seats before they sold out
New album when?
You guys have all legally purchased their albums right?...
>>71564512
S-sure.
>>71563603
wasn't Fripp Adrian Belew's auxiliary guitar player?
Don't mind me, just the KC album passing through.
>>71564512
I actually have and I can sleep safely at night knowing that my loved ones are safe from the wrath of the Frippenator
>>71564539
Anon those better not be pirated mp3s I hear...
>>71564708
FUCK
Thank you Mr. Gavin Harrison.
>>71564571
Islands doesn't get enough love.
>>71564571
>just the KC album passing through
shit, meant to say the best KC album
>>71564545
I know he played on I Zimbra
Just started getting into them and I want to know, did they do a lot of dubbing in the studio or were the tracks pretty much all recorded live?
>>71563981
>middle part of lizard is fucking garbage
Difficult to know what exactly you mean by middle, if it's just "everything between Circkus and the Battle" then I cordially advise you to kys. The Bolero is beautiful.
>>71565397
depends on the album. They were (and are) incredible live, though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhKJgqxNDD8
>>71565946
>that smile at the end
>live lineup has 3 drummers
Daily reminder that everything after islands is garbage
on the internet king crimson is a classic dadrock household name, but before /mu/ i had never heard about them in my life why is this?
ITCOTCK is all I'd heard from them for years, but then hearing about John Wetton's death a few weeks ago got me to check out their mid-'70s albums and man, that had to be one of the best prog lineups there's ever been, right? Bruford was such a beast.
I was going to get tickets to see them in Rochester in June but tickets went from about $70 to $200 in the last week or two and I'm poor
>>71566921
>CIGARETTES ICE CREAM FIGURINES OF THE VIRGIN MARY
What a great opening track. Probably my 2nd favorite KC album, honestly.
Should I spend 365 dollars on seeing them live, getting backstage, autograph, and alone time with Fripp
>>71567201
Probably. The lead singer is kind of shit nowadays but I'd do it to see Fripp (and Levin and Harrison) up close before they die
>>71567201
I would.
>>71567270
>The lead singer is kind of shit nowadays
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhKJgqxNDD8
>>71567201
If you want, but I spent that much for floor seats with me and 3 of my friends
>>71563545
Adrian always looks like he's having a great time in almost any performance. He looked like he really enjoyed being in Talking Heads or playing with Bowie
>>71567682
Any videos of him playing with Zappa?
>>71567696
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBbH6EsNBAQ
>>71567696
He's been on at least once DVD from Zappa.
>>71567201
>alone time with Fripp
How can you handle 40min of him pointing at you with a bothered face?
Also, they're touring in Mexico. Since im also here ill definitely go see them
If I pirated all of their respective music, who would kill me first - Gira or Fripp?
>>71567760
Lol the show I'm talking about is the mexico one man.
why arent they on spotify :(
>>71568436
Le spotify normie.
