post these bands every chance I get, they're all killing it in this city
About to give birth? Huge stomach tumor? Expensive and fine dinning?
It's almost exclusively amateur pub rock. There are a lot of famous and dignified composers about but to my knowledge they haven't got together a speak easy for nihilists. There might be one........ ?
>>71561929
Absolutely shit.
Got some mates bands that are doing well, but that's it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suEchrTMkPQ
Our last club got shut down a year ago or so, used to hold rock/metal and drum and bass nights... but yeah, now my town has absolutely fuck all.
Even our practise studios got closed down by the council... so we literally have nothing but pubs.
I used to be in a band and used to DJ and back then the scene was so much better, now it's fucking dead.
austin texas
it's shit and anyone who says differently has mover's guilt
literally nothing good. Just shitty death metal and emo revivalists. Which is ironic considering that my city is famous for its wealth of history with out-of-town acts.

Non existent. Everyone here is a hippy or homeless so the music is just fiddles and ukuleles singing WagonWheel essentially.

I live in Aalst, Belgium but go to school in Ghent. Here's what I've seen and thorougly liked since I started going to shows, copy pastan from the archive:
Bands:
>Brutus
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD0W4QAqfUE
Best band in Belgium in my opinion. They're well on their way to break out. Genre: post-metal with hardcore punk influences. Debut album is coming out in 2 weeks. I'm lucky and am going to their sold out show in the biggest non-stadium concert hall in Belgium.
>Kapitan Korsakov:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfK-Q-KdrVE
The noise rock band that started the trend here in Belgium. I don't think their albums sound that well (except this song), but they are fucking killer live.
>Raketkanon:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TTk9ZrjQYE
Second band of the singer of the previous band. Better on record at least, haven't seen em live yet.
>Teen Creeps:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwzxACa3z0Q
These guys fucking destroy live, recordings are so-so. Post-Hardcore/Emo ish if I had to put a label on em.
>Cocaine Piss:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mJ9NAAlbo4
Noise punk. Cool on record, but I had to make the click by seeing them live. Frontwoman is cool as fuck, doesn't give a fuck about the stage.
Dublin has [a] cool Punk/Crust/Metal scene[s]. Galway used to as well but I don't know anymore. Otherwise I'm only aware of gentrified guitar pop bands that all sound the same; inoffensive mid-20s guys who want to be in a band but don't like music.
There's one really good hip-hop act as well, but I refuse to look into Irish hip-hop because I know that it can't be good.

You should check out Oathbreaker.
They're not that local anymore but they are still from Ghent.
Eau Claire, WI. Bon Iver is obviously huge and Justin Vernon supports local music a lot. Pretty robust scene here, including:
Sniffle Party, electronic, one of the more popular bands. Got shouts from Chloe Moretz on Twitter so they've been enjoying a larger base.
https://sniffleparty.bandcamp.com/
Idle Empress, more indie/folk, know the guys in this one. Pretty good.

There are a lot of bluegrass and country bands, a couple of classic rock cover bands, and one deathcore band, I'm pretty sure. The guy from the deathcore band also has a dungeon synth project.
Flagstaff here. The jazz and such is decent, but I'm not too sure about anything else. Some of it folk, but there's a lot of death metal that I'm not really into. And lots of new-age hipstershit, but I'm not into that either.

over here theres like at most 7 producers I know of, the rest are just trash music makers and or do it for attention. There are no local music events, no bands, except one and they were just a metal band. The producers I even know about produce what every motherfucker and they momma likes, Trap. Which really wouldn't be a problem @ all if not for the fact that these niggas never trapped before in they life. The local rappers aren't great they just wanna be the next "X", and make money. Instead of sounding good. As far as I'm concerned everyone just wants to go to the mall hangout chase guys/girls and get high. Everyones the same motherfucker I swear to god.

Not much going on since Rubber Gloves closed. House show scene is going pretty strong and I think Andy's is stepping up a bit.
As far as what happened, hard to say. I think it's a combination of venues realizing they can make more money with more conventional acts and the scene of 4+ years ago being too exclusive. Most of the bands from that time are gone now, but alot of them were kinda dickheads that got too far up their own asses
