If you guys like Bojack so much you might want to check out Baskets. It's the same kind of absurd yet dry humor with some really "real" drama mixed in. It has some good music too but nothing spectacular.

Extremely well done almost exclusively retro synth soundtrack. Lots of brooding arpeggio progressions filtering in and out over sustained chords. The show itself is also extremely good. Sort of a cross between Twin Peaks and The Twilight Zone, but with far more more cinematography, arguably much better acting, and higher production value.

Special mention to Westworld. Not only is it also an awesome show, the OST was equally impressive. Also, it's full of pianola covers of popular songs, all arranged really tastefully, and trying to pick up on these little references is good fun.

Been coming here since 2008-2009, been going to Reddit since 2012. I frequent both places every day. Have been for years. I assumed everyone did this. Problem is Reddit has no decent music board, and the porn is better and more random on 4chans/gif/. But you can't beat Reddit's ability to have a tiny subreddit dedicated to that one thing your really into.

I, too, enjoy the anonymous posting of 4chan. However, we all have interest, and even just for lurking, Reddit usually provides. It has 240 million users, 850,000 boards. That's bigger than most countries, it's too big a place to have one "culture". Just like the culture on /mu/ is different than other boards. Same thing there.

Find subreddits you like just for the content. If you want to post at some time in the future and don't want a record of it just make throw-a-way accounts or something.

BoJack uses animals to seperate the audience from the reality of it's themes. To allow the viewer to focus on the commentary. By using Animals, the show is able to separate what is happening from why it's happening. The show attempts to explore several facets of live such as hopelessness, depression, success, prosperity, and more. If it where to do this in live-action, or with human characters exclusively, we would believe the story to be possible and based in a form of reality. We would begin to care more about the story than the lessons. By using Animals to explain the human condition we all live in, we can seperate ourselves from what is happening to the characters (because the characters are ridiculous, like horses fucking birds and whale news reporters) and be left with the themes and commentary the show provides.

I don't think one should separate oneself from the reality of Bojack and only look at the lessons, because Bojack's character is done so well that if one were to just right him off as "a horse," one misses out on all the development. Seeing Bojack as an ongoing product of on screen mistakes is amazing (obviously his on screen past as shown through flashbacks too).

I agree, part of the enjoyment is caring and relating to Bojack and other characters. It's just easier to see and understand the themes of the show due to the comedy and separation from reality the show operates within. Every bojack fan I know can discuss the themes of the show, because they do such a good job of it, but I can't say the same for something like True Detective or Hannibal,because those shows are based on reality and made to convince the viewer the events actually occurred in a real place at a real time. it's much harder to disect. With Bojack we are left to interpret the show because it's reality does not exist, with other shows we aren't automatically given the opportunity to interpret.

The show "Love" on Netflix has a pretty sweet soundtrack as well. So does "Flaked" although the show itself isn't as good. Damn Netflix just has some good soundtracks on their shows.

Also "Atlanta" on FX obviously has a very excellent playlist, what with it being about rapping in Atlanta.

High Maintenance on HBO (formerly a webseries) has a great soundtrack, too.

For shows that have already ended, there's Twin Peaks of course. And Freaks and Geeks.
