Can we complete it /mu/? What are the nicest sounding albums you know?
MOM I'M SHILLING IT AGAIN!
>>71505700
Really nice sounding album. You can focus on how nice it sounds because italian is incomprehensible.
all of them
Steely Dan
>>71505700
Violator - Depeche Mode
Providing some audio this time.
One of the best album closers I've ever heard.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bPzsRVOAPQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97tBBi-spfA
steely dan - aja
daft punk - random access memories
big star - #1 record
massive attack - blue lines
soundgarden - superunknown
>>71505803
it's a good album but the mixing is odd
One of the best produced albums i've ever heard
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdlJ_szMK5I
Cortex - Tropeau Bleu
>>71505700
That's very subjective a lot of the time
I'd add Dataplex by Ryoji Ikeda and Pop by Gas
>>71505920
Hiroshi Yoshimora - music for nine postcards
>>71505944
>>71505920
Also OP you are getting meme'd pretty hard with Death Magnetic. It's one of the worst offenders of the loudness war.
>>71505959
Everything is subject to change, I'm just putting in what people want for now. When it's full people will say which albums should be replaced
Obligatory
I hope I made it in time.
>>71505979
Oh that's a really good way to go about it
Carry on OP
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
Damn /mu/, that was quick.
From here on, if an album gets suggested and you think it deserves to be in the chat, give a (You) to the poster and say what it should replace
>>71505740
nylon curtain friend never leave
>>71506016
The most depressing yet calming album around. Parachutes doesn't even come close. 10/10 would compliment for posting Nick Drake again
>>71506082
I suggested like...5 albums my man. Trust me I'm not going anywhere.
It's still my favorite composition-wise.
>>71505803
Replace with
Steve reich - music for 18 musicians
>>71506103
I actually already replaced it with Pink Moon, what else would you replace?
>>71506120
dire straits
updated
Another great one
>>71505920
awful please delete
>>71506195
>he replies to a non updated chart and expects people to take him seriously
Dark Side of the Moon is regularly mentioned for production quality and is used to test speakers
This album and Thriller as well have top notch production. I haven't heard enough of the others to say what they should replace. Maybe just make the chart bigger because these are impossible to leave out, like most Beatles albums
>>71506158
NIN and Reich don't really fit desu
>>71506225
>>71506272
nice, add Thriller in there too
>>71506263
Agree with NIN
>>71506272
Kid A as well
>>71506037
So you added every single album mentioned in here without any quality control?
What a great chart.
>>71506315
yeah Kid A is missing
I don't know what should be removed, but I'll say that Thriller, Purple Rain, Immunity, Dark Side of the Moon, Pop, Dataplex, Violator, Blue Lines, are all good choices
I haven't listened to RATM in ages but I don't remember it sounding that good, but if someone suggested it then I suppose it does
>>71506363
See >>71505979
this for sure. Like a Punk Sgt. Pepper
>>71506363
i think it works it actually works in a way. at the end, only the greatest sounding albums will remain because no one will ask to replace them.
Immunity could be replaced by any DeadMau5 album but it's hard to say with electronic/techno/house albums. I personally think Levon Vincent - S/T or Kiamsos - S/T could replace it
>>71506380
RATM is widely known as one of the best produced albums, used to test high-end audio systems.
>>71506472
>>71506449
lmao you added both and I don't think any of the three deserve to be on there. I'm struggling to come up with an exceptionally well produced electronic album that's not just Aphex twin or DJ Shadow or something. Endtroducing is a well balanced use of Sampler but it's not in the same league as a Thriller for example.
meanwhile still no beatles on there
>>71506515
>meanwhile still no beatles on there
>>71506526
Sgt. Pepper is on the chart
>>71506526
>>71506542
my bad guys
>>71506515
From now on if anons meme albums onto the chart I'm just gonna replace them with my own picks
I dont know if it counts but Double Nickels on the Dime is really fucking clean.
I use it for testing
https://open.spotify.com/album/4ObmL99P8t8Rkzd91lXDer
Gas and Steve Reich could be the first to be replaced from what I see. I understand Gas - Pop is great but it's ambient, the production is just about impossible to fuck up. The Caretaker has more interestingly produced albums considering he's using the lowest of fi samples.
This no doubt, I use this for testing. Miles Davis's Kind of Blue also belongs on there, and maybe John Coltrane's My Favorite Things and Mingus's Mingus Ah Um
>>71506635
Pop is a great album but the production isn't anything exceptional.
>>71506635
>gas or steve reich are easy to produce so shouldn't be on the chart
The chart isn't about difficult production
>>71506635
>The Caretaker has more interestingly produced albums considering he's using the lowest of fi samples.
Interesting, but not because of that it'll sound good. The samples still sound old.
>>71506709
I understand that, I'm saying something like if the category as a whole has great production then we should be looking out for the ones with really remarkable production quality. Pop and Music are not those albums. Maybe a Giorgio Moroder or a Ryuichi Sakamota? A Klaus Schulze? Literally all of them have top of the line production.
Compared to say taking a Beatles or Stones album and putting it up against a Henry Cow. All great albums, some way better produced than others
>>71506704
Why is 'Double Nickels...' in here?
>>71506803
K remove it
I think it sounds 'clean'
