I really fucking dig this! I've only listened to the first track but it's on my wishlist now. I love your vocals and the inclusion of the other instruments.

BIG rec on this guy:

>>71501188
>>
>>71501119
yes, I was considering the thing from a while, then decide to make an EP with the newest sc tracks and a bunch of unreleased
>>
>>71500995
It's not bad but... I find track 2 and 3 especially annoying. They sound horrible - the guitar sound especially. I would think about recording vocals isolated to guitar (just to make less mess in the mix). And yeah, vocals does need to get better mixed. They really need that. Especially on the forth track which they kinda float silly. Or maybe that's a guitar that's doing this. Again, work required. Can't tell much about the composition value since it's so short it's basically non-existent. It is a good start however, and I wish your album be well.

>>71501090
For me this sounds like cyberpunk done light, effortless, bleak (all in good way, don't get me wrong here!). I would consider making your stuff a bit louder and much more intense so it would go full-on heavenly, because, as of now, it seems rather "void-like", very empty and bleak. I think you have a notch to managed such a thing.

>>71501105
I mean... you know... Pass. I'm not into this stuff and I hate breaking a bit of the words about it.
>>
>>71501304
hey, I am >>71501105

if it's the "beat" keyword that is keeping you, I'd really like if you give it a try anyway; except two or maybe three songs I don't think there's much of it in this, I've had the presumption of making something that are not just "chill beats" on most of this, and I'd love if you give it a try, then you can come here and roast me or give me some advice if you feel to
>>
>>71501304
mix? I do everything in one take, thanks for the constructive criticism tho. Ill think about keeping that in mind
>>
>>71501345
Just don't feel like an authority for that kind of stuff since, I feel, most of the beat-driven or "lo-fi ambient" music tend to be same-ish. But I'll give it a try and see how it goes. It sounds OK, just on the sound level alone. You are trying to give this lo-fi feel and I think I understand what is behind it but I just don't understand the way of execution on these sadly. At times these tracks sound just plain flat. Beat-complexity is also a bit meh, I suppose. They don't give anything here to look into very much. I try to also understand what should be in the foreground of your music. Synths? Beats? Because there is no defining feature that would resemble both options. I also feel like the synth sounds that you've used has been long since redundant by people in SC community. Additionally, this is very much a mixture of different quality tracks composition-wise. And don't even get me started on them being so bloody short. This is the pinnacle point which disgusts me the most I think. Why should I or anybody else bother to listening to something that is clearly not intended for a long term re-listening experience? Why should I bother with playing this in the background/foreground if it doesn't really do a great job at both of these elements. I find it odd that this even became a collection, it's not a finite deal to become that, at least in my opinion. These personal issues aside - mixing can be worked on harder and these tracks needs that. Much of it feels like a filler and if you've asked me what I've remember from these my answer would probably come across a bit like "some hip-hop beats under this old-y feel". That does not make one good, sadly. It does nothing for me. Many may just listen to it and say "yeah, that's good" and jump onto another SC guy in his bedroom making similar beats, with similar flare and idea. And I think the worst thing is this - I can't even recall your name. Sorry, but I'm not on that. At all.
>>
>>71501430
>mix?
I've meant the final mix of the track. The mixing process used to make a certain track.

>I do everything in one take
See, here's the thing. I don't think this is a proper way to think about making something cohesive and/or good. I try to avoid after a series of pretty mediocre releases I've done in the past so probably, at some point, you'll start to see flaws in that attitude to recording. Plus, I fell, this is very ungenerous to the audience because it feels like you don't give a fuck and record something on the whim. I think you get what I'm saying.

Sounds a bit apologetic. I'm personally against just throwing stuff in there and moving along. It feels bad as in general. Mostly because, in the past, these threads were not only about that, they had a much bigger interest in making collaborations, discussions, talking about other people's stuff etc. If you want to shamelessly promote yourself 4chan is not the best place. Look at the posters count mate - 10 people ain't nothing. Additionally, I feel like this thing deserves better. If you want to just put your stuff out there - do it. Make a big ass thread where people just post their stuff and nothing else. I mean, in a way, this BC/SC/YT thing is that really. And, in a whole, I think we all could benefit if we were straightforward about our and other people's stuff not only for just having conversation but also it will allow to gain a bunch of new perspective to improve one's material. Throwing stuff and running away from these threads is like closing yourself in a safe-space bubble trying to achieve something you never will - attention of more than 10-11 people. That's my point at least.
>>
>>71502374

Honestly, a more inclusive and especially collaborative aspect to this would be really, really nice - there have been several people (you, for instance, though I'm not sure how that'd work) that I've been interested in collaborating with, but thought asking would be out of line.

If you're thinking about contacting any music creator directly go to their BC and find contact/help section and there should be Contact [insert name here] and there is a contact form that will basically send an e-mail to them. Instruction added as an image (for other dummies as well). Learned that people who are actually interested in collabs aren't waiting for your response in the threads all that long so it's nice to bear in mind in general.
I mean, if you like I would consider that but we would have to have an idea of what we are actually want to do lel.
>>

Heard a few tracks. I agree, it's really really clumsy. The Bastard peaks at times and it's so annoying you wouldn't believe. The tracks I've heard felt more like demos than anything else. If that was your intention (i.e. release a bag of demos) them I'm not all that on this thing. Even the cover looks a bit off, what's up with it mate? Tracks after The Bastard feel like they have a better overall volume level but the songs prior to that feel artificially flat. Like I've said before - tracks under two minutes without any sort of grip to my ears. I've heard on these threads better dungeon synth stuff. However, I feel like there are some fundamentals here. Synth sounds are alright even though, again, they are a bit flat in places. And from my understanding, don't count this as any sort of reliable source, I feel like dungeon synth should be more, I don't know, majestic? Grand? This certainly does not deliver. But hey, you go mate, maybe your sound will improve via natural process of learning stuff!

This is the guy you responded to. I like your response. Makes sense to me. I guess I said that mainly because whenever i see someone post their own work on a thread that's not specifically for Soundcloud/bandcamp, but is relevant to the thread, they get called shill.
>>
>>71503001

>>71503206
Good to know my voice is working! and we get the J-rock thing a lot. Probably because we listen to a lot of it.
>>
>>71503786
That I think comes to the general mentality of the threaders and anons alike. I guess the main "shill" factor is, like you've said, the fact that the music they post doesn't match up with the overall intent of the thread (i.e. BC thread with BC stuff only). I can certainly understand why people tend to be upset - keeping a purity of some places requires to keep things in some "order" so they get pissed off about that. I don't see why very often. On the other hand, however, if you see that the person completely post their stuff with no reason in some completely off-put place (Youtube link share only with "dude, check out my mixtape") or just an attention whore who posts and then shit on everyone creative no discourse or conversation you might understand why some people are defensive (myself included) to the "share 'n run" type. I have my own "definition" of a shill - a guy who puts shit stuff just only so he can join and break a thread with his whining how great he is and such. Maybe "attention whore" label would be better indeed.
