Honestly i consider it a good thing that older artists are forgotten about in favor of new stuff in hip hop, as soon as a genre gets too bogged down in its own past it stagnates imo

People forget about older hip-hop artists because whatever trendy shit they were rapping about stops being "cool" at one point and people realize how cringe-inducing it is. Then they move on to the next fad of the genre and the cycle repeats. It was chains, cars, and grills in the mid 2000s, then it was "alternative" and "depressing" with the shock rap of Odd Future, and now it's trap.

The real redpill is realizing that the entirety of the genre is cringe 95% of the time.
