Hmm imo /mu/ is nothing like it was 6 years ago. I'd say sometime around 2010-2012 was its prime. /mu/core was a real thing and collective effort and there was endless discussion about all kinds of music all day. Vaporwave, shugazi, black metal, hip-hop, jazz, Japanese music, the list goes on.

I like Death Grips a great deal but I really associate them with the death of board culture. You look at things that started in /mu/ having millions of hits on youtube and stuff that we used to joke about becoming identity-defining for edgy /b/ teens, or whatever Facebook groups have replaced it.
