I either hate or am indifferent towards everything in this thread, but really enjoy Stephen Sondheim. Showboat is also great.
What would /mu/ recommend? I've been meaning to try Rocky Mountain Horror, as well as some of the more "pop" musicals.

These two, Phantom, and Les Mis have the most consistently good music of any musical I've seen/listened to. I'm not a huge Broadway buff, but all the other musicals I've seen like Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, The Secret Garden, Jekyll and Hyde, Annie, Oklahoma, etc., don't come anywhere near those other 4.
