This list is unofficial but hopefully some of these are legit.
http://thevinylfactory.com/news/record-store-day-2017-exclusives-list-rumour/

Anyone here take part in RSD?
What releases are you hoping to get a copy of if going off of this list?

As for me I usually get a few things and don't allow myself to spend more than $200.00.

My picks
>Animal Collective – Meeting Of The Waters [10”] (limited to 1200, indie-retail exclusive) 10″
>Bert Jansch – The Black Swan [7”] (limited to 2000, indie-retail exclusive) 7″
>Coheed And Cambria – Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV Volume One [2LP] (150 Gram Splatter Vinyl, gatefold, download, first time on vinyl, limited to 2500, indie-retail exclusive) LP
>Marcy Playground – Marcy Playground [LP+7”] (first time on vinyl, limited to 2500, indie-retail exclusive) LP
>Pink Floyd – Interstellar Overdrive [12”] (180 Gram, previously unheard / unreleased recording from 1966, poster, postcard, limited to 4000, indie-retail exclusive) 12″
>Run The Jewels – RTJ RSD Record Tote Bag (recycled cotton canvas, gold pin set of 2 pins, limited, indie-retail exclusive) Acc
>Sia – Spotify Sessions [LP] (150 Gram, limited to 1800, indie-retail exclusive) LP
>>
I was also interested in the Danny Brown and the other Pink Floyd release but they're picture discs, so as for now not a necessity.
>>
>>71470840
Blind Mr; Jones, maybe AnCo and Danny Brown
Also that Toto - Africa :^)
>>
>>71470936
That Africa would be awesome gift for my sister and her husband. It's their song.
>>
I would very much like to have that black angels record.

>Corey Feldman single exclusive
For what purpose
>>
I will get into a cage fight with a hipster for the Animal Collective 10'

>Ike Reiko – You, Baby [LP+CD] (180 Gram Green Colored Vinyl, hand-numbered/limited to 1000, indie-retail exclusive) LP
>>
anyone know anything else about that AnCo release?
>>
creation rebels starship africa is GOAT
>>
>>71471252
I've been Googling trying to find something and haven't been successful for hours now.
I hope it's not really new material and instead is Water Curses EP on one side and a live Water Curses EP on the reverse.

That does not seem likely however.
>>
Those various artist comps sound neat as fuck
>>
>>71470840
hyped for Germs
>>
Don't like supporting RSD but I can't pass up that Corey Feldman single my dudes.
Might get the DEP one too.
>>
>>71471827
Why don't you like supporting RSD?
>>
>>71471845
There are plenty of articles out there that talk about how RSD sucks for indie labels and all the special releases clog up the pipeline for other people just trying to get their normal ass album out and price gouging and blah blah blah blah blah

I really just hate the lines.
>>
>>71472029
The lines are a pain unless you wait outside hours before the shop opens. The thing I don't like are Discogs price gougers.
>>
Is the AnCo release the Coral Orgy material?
>>
>The lines are a pain unless you wait outside hours before the shop opens.

That is basically a line.
>>
>>71473430
If you wait outside at 5:00AM and the shop doesn't open until 10:00AM then you can be one of the first 10 people in said line. If you wait, thinking it's just a normal day, you'll be something like 300th in line and won't make it inside the shop for a couple hours and by the time you get in most of the very limited RSD stuff will be picked clean.
>>
>>71470840
>Marcy Playground

I honestly can't think of an album pressing more unnecessary than this
>>
>>71473744
what kind of fukkin shops are you going to? all my rsd experiences have just been 30 or so neckbeards pawing around
>>
>>71473906
last year or the year before had the soundtrack to the podcast Serial
>>
Stevie Ray, Sun Ra, maybe Vic Chesnutt... nothing there I'm really dying to grab though. More going to be wandering in early afternoon and seeing what happens to be available I think.

>>71473744
You gotta keep track of what shops open when. The last couple of years when there's been releases I've really wanted, I keep track of what local shop opened last and just went to that one an hour before opening. The earlier openings always have ridiculous lines but everybody else is running around the other stores looking for shit so I always end up being among the first five people in line at that last store. Last year I was first in line at the place I staked out, got their one and only copy of Xiu Xiu Twin Peaks and I waited less than an hour. Felt good, man.
>>
>>71470840
can anybody explain the appeal of RSD? I like to swing by a shop or two during mid day because there's generally a positive atmosphere and sometimes an event or two.

But the records themselves are so much less exciting than what I could find crate digging or poking around discogs.
>>
>>71474073
it's by nick diamonds, and he's at least a decent artist
>>
>>71474183
Sales. Some stores in my city have some in-store performances and shit.
>>
bruce live at hammersmith is pretty enticing
>>
>>71473213
thats probably the case
>>
>>71473213
That would be epic but I don't know if an hour long set would be able to be on just a single 10" record.

>>71473906
What could you have against Marcy Playground?

>>71474039
I guess it's from where there is only one record store in the city I live in or the surrounding 5 cities.
>>
Gotta cop dat Corey Feldman, m8.

Nah, but seriously I'm a huge Katatonia fan so I'm curious as fuck about this Proscenium business.
>>
>>71474039
Not him, but I live in Denver and the record store I go to is disgustingly packed on RSD.
>>
I'm getting that Corey Feldman
>>
>>71475078
Marcy Playground murdered my family
>>
>>71476295
>I SMELL SEX AND
>CANDAY

yawn
>>
>>71475078
Nothing, I just can't fathom what kind of audience exists out there that would leave a label to think "Man we're sitting on a gold mine if we reissue an album by one of the most forgettable one-hit-wonders of all time"
>>
So nobody else wants Television Personalities and The Sundays? Guess I don't need to worry about getting there early this year
>>
>>71476351
I take it you've never listened to that wonderful album, that "hit" as you put it is the worst thing about that album.
>>
why would anyone buy a weed-scented peter tosh lp? i'm sure if you buy any secondhand peter tosh record now it already smells like weed
>>
>>71470840
>Pink Floyd – Interstellar Overdrive [12”] (180 Gram, previously unheard / unreleased recording from 1966, poster, postcard, limited to 4000, indie-retail exclusive) 12″
>Sun Ra – Discipline 27-11 [LP] (limited to 1000, indie-retail exclusive) LP
>Sun Ra – Janus [LP] (Psychedelic Swirl Colored Vinyl, limited to 2000, indie-retail exclusive) LP

For me, and maybe I'll look into some of those various artist compilations
>>
>>71471362
it's stuff from Campfire Songs anon

don't ask me, but it is
>>
>>71477178
Dude, I hope you're right. That's my favorite album of theirs and it has never been on vinyl.

Moo Rah Rah Rain is my go-to bad day song.
>>
>Miley Cyrus – Bangerz [2LP] (150 Gram Hot Pink Vinyl

Fuck yeah! I'll be first in line for that shit.
>>

>>
>>71477343

also the L.A. concert used in Bowie's Cracked Actor doc will be seeing a release (unfortunately, no video in the near future)
>>
>>71471252
im assuming its something along the lines of Michael, Remember or the stuff they did at the Coral Orgy

Feels bad, man.

>Pink Floyd – Interstellar Overdrive [12”] (180 Gram, previously unheard / unreleased recording from 1966, poster, postcard, limited to 4000, indie-retail exclusive) 12″
>Procol Harum – A Whiter Shade Of Pale (50th Anniversary) [12” EP] (White with Clear Splatter Vinyl, insert, includes unreleased track, indie-retail exclusive) 12″

fucking kek

I don't know why this exists but I want it
>>
Vitamin String Quartet covering Kanye West sounds neat.
>>
>tfw we don't even have RSD here, despite saying it has

Too bad I've missed on The Pod and Interview/Fashion Week, because otherwise I don't care that much
>>
>>71470840

>Spotify Sessions
>Spotify
>vinyl

you're gonna get mp3s pressed onto vinyl
>>
>>71482314

what if they actually have high-definition lossless files, would that be crazy or what
>>
>>71482321

it's spotify
not tidal
>>
>>71482351

I'm pretty sure they don't record that stuff directly to lossy, that'd be pretty stupid
