I'm seeing them for the second time in Seattle later this month. I'm so fucking stoked. Their live show is really special. Better than any other metal concert I've been to.

The vocalist's dancing was obnoxious, but he evened up the score by turning it into teenager stage diving practice for the last few songs. The kids were having a great time so it was chill.

the guitar is extremely easy to play, and is layered behind a board of gross boutique pedals and amps
the song structure is simple, and no parts of their performance is anything more than average

he was humping the mic stand when i saw them, the crowd wasn't digging it and people started leaving. He paces around like he is intimidating.

Overall I'm not mad, just disappointed that this lame band is what most hipsters will associate good metal with.

It was kinda cool in 2013, but now they've lost their charm with me.

Watching them just makes me cringe. The black gloves, the fashy outfits, the "passionate" hand gestures, the "ambient" tremello picked major scale leads.

The whole thing just seems like a bunch of gimmicks to make up for the fact that they don't have that many good songs.
