ITT: best song on its album
Time
>>71457525
>not any colour you like
To think that people like you exist...
>>71457525
>>71457577
>Any Colour You Like
This is the obvious choice for best song, OP
>>71457665
>>71457525
why pick one?
Is dsotm really that good? Is the Wall really that bad? i.e. The Wall is really their best album
>>71457737
save it honey
common guys it Us and them, comes in perfectly
>>71457737
i prefer the wall over dsotm, but wish you were here blows both of those out of the water.
also i like piper more than dsotm and the wall but they're so different it's not really too fair to compare them
>>71458154
But the Wall is almost twice as long. Does it really have that many weak songs or songs that are really that weak? Yeah yeah we all know about Run but is there anything else?
>>71457826
Close second to Time, Any Colour You Like is #3 for me
>>71458230
In the Flesh, Young Lust and i guess The Trial
>>71458230
I feel it's not the presence of weak songs, but the lack of really strong ones.
Blueprint
>>71458357
No Education
Comfortably Numb
Massive classics
>>71458286
Ok I'll listen again for those first two
Jealousy
Best Floyd album is Animals
Best DSotM track is Time
>>71458441
nigga what the hell song is "no education"
College
>>71458286
Doesn't Flesh function as a reprise? It's pretty short anyways.
Young Lust I'm not sure I could be immediately objective about. I'm a big sucker for that song.
>>71458511
Sorry I've always hated that song title for such a massive classic. Just call it education or something my God.
>>71458534
Well there's "In The Flesh?" and "In The Flesh" with the latter being the "main" one.
Idk it's like the song that identifies that album for me
>>71458565
what are you talking about man? its just a title
>>71458565
well the good news is that its called "another brick in the wall"
Time, Any Colour You Like comes in at a close second, and Brain Damage at third,
La Mer
>>71457525
Motion Picture Soundtrack
>>71457525

>>71460844
I agree, White walls truly is the best.
>>71460877
Yes, for about the last year or so mainly by vaporwave fags. It's a nice transition song is all.
Power 4 power
well brain damage/eclipse is epic

>>71464664

>>71457577
>>71457665
>>71461704
Any colour you like is actually my favorite song on that album, completely unironically. I didn't even realize it was a meme on here, and I fucking hate vaporwave.
>>71464773
i could not like the album at all i guess, that'd probably be more pleb
>>71464813
true
>>71464790
>I didn't even realize it was a meme on here, and I fucking hate vaporwave.
it's not, that guy is retarded
>>71457525
Time is objectively a top 5 song all time. shame the whole album doesn't match it
>>71458565
top pleb
Another Brick In The Wall is a fucking great name
also
>>71458230
>not liking You Better Run
Mad Man Moon
>>71457719
Because that's the point of the thread...
Sulk.
>>71465372
>not Entangled
>>71465490
Fuck no, Sulk is the worst track by far. The whole album is just a big build-up to Street Spirit, which is obviously the one and only right pick for best track.

>>71457737
DSOTM is a great album, but a little bit overrated.
The Wall is Roger Waters making self-indulgent trash because he was given too much freedom.

>>71467641

The Cage
>>71467686
Im not saying its the best, that would be shine on you crazy diamond, but in terms of dsotm brain damage was sort of describing syd barrett
>>71467733
Except Roger Waters wrote it, not David

Down Colorful Hill
>>71458517
>>71462218
Agree
>>71467789
FYI, David and Syd were already friends; that's how he got in Pink Floyd, through Syd. Also when David began playing in the band, he used the exact same gear as Syd and tried to emulate his technique. He also stepped in to produce Syd's solo albums, and went out of his way to make sure Syd received royalties for his work in Pink Floyd, as well as to make sure a Syd track was always featured on every Pink Floyd compilation.

Tough one.
