Haven't listened to that albul but I've tried to listen to some of their other stuff and his voice grates on me so much. Shortly after Nick's most recent album was released I thought I'd give him another go but I didn't like it.

for me his voice is alot of the appeal as well as his lyricism, imo murder ballads is his most accessible album

Not much on it yet, but it seems really promising for discovering post-punk related genres. Their youtube channel has some obscure albums worth checking out imo.
