When I saw that the Metal Zone was actually plugged in...

Just to give you some reference I am a bassist, and I even know not to use that piece of shit.

Using a Metal Master with a Gibson Les Paul and a good amp was the exact reason Euronymous got killed, and he deserved it
>>
Is the metal zone even that bad
>>
>>71395638
Not bad for a start, but, you need to do a few things.

1. Sell the metal zone pedal.
2. Buy an Ibanez TS808 or TS9
3. Upgrade your amp to something with at least 30 watts, probably more like 50, especially if you intend to play shows.

>buy an Ibanez
no

>>71396404
It's not amazing, but it's not SUPER terrible like people meme about.

>>71395857
Sometimes I don't feel like annoying my family and turning the gain super loud to get a nice distorted tone.

>>71395719
Refer to above

Metalzone isn't that horrid. Sometimes you just want a shitty disgusting tone for death or black metal.

>>71396179
Kek'd. Also not a Les Paul, but an SG.
>>
>>71395638

Jelly of dat sg fo sho. Not a fan of fuzz doe, so the amps not my preference. Went Mesa and I'm never goin back

You're using a distortion pedal on a tube amp, that's fucking stupid. In addition to this fucking bullshit you're using a notoriously shitty distortion pedal.

You're right, you don't need a tube screamer, but you DEFINITELY don't need a fucking distortion pedal. If you have an autistic desire for more distortion however, then a TS9 is your best bet.

Just fucking mic your shit man.

i love good pedals with tubes but fuckkk that set up needs work

you're going in the right direction with the gibson sg and orange gear

as for pedals >>71396411 that tube screamer is an amazing pedal but for fender sounding stuff you know the american mid scooped and uncompressed amp sound

orange comes from the english school of amps with the mids boosted
this site

>ONLY transparent, mids scooped or flat EQ overdrives, distortions and fuzz.
recommends something like buffalo fx power booster

i think the tone job pedal by earthquaker can help you out along with a dirt pedal like catalinbread's sabbra cadabra it does that sabbath tone wonderfully even if sabbath hated orange jej

but that distortion sound is up to you brah there's a whole market for you to explore

some better stuff than your metal zone

A 15 watt tube amp is more than enough for pretty much any small to medium venue. If you it isn't, then bigger venues will have PA systems anyway and you will be micing it up.

Plus it is much easier to get a 15 watt tube amp singing at a reasonable volume than it is with a higher watt amp. And of course wattage is not the sole factor for how loud it will be.

Ditch the metal zone. They really aren't great especially when you compare them to something else.

Overall, I like it
