So I've been listening to a bit of vaporwave and Simpsons wave off and on for what feel like years. I've always been more impressed by the video accompaniment than the music per se. Tonight I had a big ass glass of malt liquor and now Simpsonswave sounds better than ever.
So what do you guys feel about vaporwave anyhow? I think it's a neat phenomenon on any level let alone musically significant. whatever personal thoughts, feeling opinions on vaporwave/this post please.
I really enjoy the gerne. Vaporwave / Dreamwave has this feeling that I don´t really know from other stuff. Especially HKE, チェスマスター or t h e l e p a t h.
The only downside could be the meme-factor it has. But nowadays everything is a meme so it doesn´t really matter.

I enjoy it. Luxury elite is the fucking best.
I feel ya about the meme business. Being a meme one would think it's relegated to the public consciousness's short term memory.
Why are the statues a thing? I still love the music by the way

The aesthetic
Ive been listening to vaporwave for a while now and recently Ive been getting into a little more experimental vaporwave. (Skeletons stuff, CVLTVRE -Surreal, Pyravid - Googolplex Bionetwork etc) I also really enjoy "soundscape" sort of albums like yes were open. Any recomendations?

Hong Kong Express' HK is phenominal. the 2814 stuff goes without saying
I love the comfy atmospheric synth stuff like Golden Living Room, HKE, 2814, Luxury Elite etc. that feel like they should be on the soundtrack of a film written by William Gibson(like Gibson's GOAT screenplay for Johnny Mnemonic that perfectly captures the world and feel of Gibsonian Cyberpunk)
Future-Funk is bland weaponised AIDS that lets 20 year olds feel nostalgic for a decade they never experienced while they watch the cringeworthy generic music videos and get "wow so many feels"
