Brian Wilson should be pretty gud, might have a job at Glastonbury and Leeds too so that means I'll see Muse, Kasabian, Radiohead and Foo Fighters

They've only announced like 15 acts so far. Really really REALLY fucking hoping they finally get Mount Eerie back
>>
Any recommendations from this lineup other than Aphex Twin, Death Grips, FlyLo, Jon Hopkins, Kevin Morby, King Gizzard, Moderat, Nicolas Jaar, Omar Souleyman and Slowdive?

Pretty nice lineup.
Run the Jewels is fun.

Any recs for me?
>>
>>71325542
Beak> definitely

Nina Kraviz is a fun time
>>
>>71325547
to be fair, Shellac play Primavera Sound every year
>>
>>71325542
Moodymann
>>
>>71325542
RTJ, S U R V I V E and Thee Oh Sees
>>
Bestival and Friday of Love box. Brit festivals are all disappointing this year, Glasto will probably have a bunch of decent stuff as per usual so I might look into working there.
>>
>>71325542
ABRA, Clams Casino, Fatima Yamaha, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Moodymann, PC music, RTJ, SURVIVE and Whitney. Nice lineup.
>>
>>71325701
Isn't Glasto just obnoxiously large?

I've never been so I'm genuinely curious, but it looks like an all around bad time from where I'm standing.
>>
>>71324113
See you there my man. If you see a stoned loner at the front row for Sleep say hi.
>>
>>71325739
Yeah its an arse ache if you're the type of person who likes to schedule their whole weekends music ahead of time. Best to just pick a headliner and be malleable the rest of the time.
>>
>>71325800
Primavera Sound is the biggest festival I have ever attended and aside from having to save an hour prior to and after a headliner, everything is spaced out just right.

If I paid for a ticket to Glasto and only saw a couple of acts, I'd be fucking mad.

Didn't expect so many recs. Thanks guys
>>
Probably goin alone ;-;
>>
none i don't leave my house
>>
>>71325845
It's my first time going to primavera, is it easy getting from stage to stage? Are the timetables generally well organised so you don't miss any relevant act?
>>
>>71325986
It's shockingly easy.

The festival grounds have quite a bit of verticality (it's kind of like one giant staircase) which allows for stages to be positioned in such a way that they are quite close to one another without disturbing each other.

Get a head start on the first day to get familiar with all the routes to get around efficiently. Unless you are moving from one of the main stages, you should have plenty of time to change stages inbetween acts. It can literally take as little as 2 minutes and I'm not fucking joking. It's the best organized event I have ever been to, period.

And one more tip, you're not allowed to bring your own plastic bottle. If you buy a bottle of water right at the festival, they will give it to you without the lid. Which is annoying because there are a few water fountains. So do this - bring a 3dl plastic bottle and hide the lid as best you can. They will let you in and you can refill with water as much as you want and you never have to spend a cent to not fucking die of thirst.
>>
>>71326133
sounds fucking great, thanks for the advice about the bottles as well. For some reason I thought the stages were much further away from one another. Is the sound good too? I read complaints about it last year.
>>
>>71325542
whitney
>>
>>71326244
I was in the same boat. I had previously only been to smaller festivals and I was expecting a total shitshow with regards to the stages. It ended up being laid out better those smaller festivals.

I never had problems with the sound, but it also depends on where you're standing and how large the stage is. Open airs will always be tricky in that regard. The rule of thumb I follow is to be kind of in the vicinity of the sound engineer tower.

Also, don't make a newbie mistake and get into the VIP zone during a concert right before a headliner you want to see up close, thinking you're so goddamn smart. They always empty those zones and only start letting VIP holders in at a specific time. One of the two zones right under the stage is a VIP zone and they usually leave notes on the barriers, but that's easy to miss. So heads up for that.

Still waiting to for more lineups to drop but I might go to this again.
>>
I really hope there are no bad conflicts becaquse they've never done 3 main stages before
>>
>>71326493
also Converge replaced MoBo so that should be great
>>
>>71326414
Alright thanks a lot man. I have one last question. Is the festival site strict on drugs? I know that Barcelona is quite liberal with weed, but what's it like on the festival ground?
>>
>>71325885
Might want to scratch Modern Baseball off that list
>>
>>71326534
I think the formal rule is strongly against drugs, just like at all major events. If you have Heineken paying for the party, you can't condone drug use.

I have smelled plenty of weed last year so it's probably quite relaxed in that regard, but I also haven't seen a single person who was visibly high or even drunk.

I can't confirm or deny that they didn't kick a person out for drugs. But you should be absolutely fine if you bring a bit of weed.
>>
>>71326628
Cool thanks. Nice to know there's no drunkards as well, that's the only thing that really annoys me at festivals and gigs. I went to Sziget last year and there's nothing worse than being in a moshpit with a completely drunk fuck that can't even stand anymore, ruins the fun for everyone else. But the opposite is also shit though. At the same festival I saw Sigur Ros and there was that group of italians next to me smoking a giant blunt and they wouldn't stop talking, which sucks since Sigur Ros isn't a very loud act and the crowd was to thick to go somewhere else.
>>
>>71325542
Machinedrum ffs... that dude is boss!
>>
>>71325638
to be fair, primavera has a ridiculous lineup every year

>>
>>71325885
essentially friendless anon here
what's it like going to a festival alone? is that somethig you've done before?
>>
>>71327120
I'll say this, there's quite a lot of chatter during concerts at Primavera too. Some assertive shushing worked out for me 99% of the time, but you do have to put some work into improving your experience.

A bunch of guys were talking like idiots during Julia Holter, I shushed them, looked at them as if I was gonna kill them, and they apologized profusely and left immediately. They literally didn't realize they could be disturbing someone. Spaniards are simply loud so prepare yourself for that.
>>
>>71327216
totally fine if you're going for the music

this one
>>
>>71327331
Yeah, saw them in a tiny venue last april, it was the first live music I saw. Was a good time.
>>
>>71327216
I go to gigs all the time alone which i prefer to going with friends now. I haven't done it for a festival yet, though i'm going to primavera this year alone. I've been to festivals before with other people where I spent most of the time going to the shows on my own though so i don't think it will be a problem. I'm actually really excited to explore a city and a festival i've never been to completely on my own.
So hell yea man go for it. anyone that judges you for it is an irrelevant square anyways.

Would you go?
>>
>>71327455
I cant asnwer that since I cant read the fucking band names because of their autistic fonts.
>>
>>71327306
Seen to Employed to Serve a bunch of times and they are fucking great. Bossk are like a British Isis, not as good obviously but still well worth your time.

ATG people have pretty good taste desu, if you like the style of music enough to consider the fest you should probably be willing to give most bands on the bill a chance
>>
>>71326628
i was there a couple of years ago and as long as you stay sneaky about doing it and you don't get too fucked up you shouldn't have a problem. just dont smoke weed in the porta pottys, as i remember noticing my neighbour next door doing. that shit is flammable. keep to the outskirts of the festival area
>>
>>71327455
I like some of it but have no idea how you could do a whole weekend with nothing else.
>>
>>71327494
Less into the prog metal stuff, more into math rock, post rock, noise rock.

I gave it a miss last year because I found out a bout it too close ot the date, which I regret since the line-up seemed more to my taste - GY!BE, American Footbal, Toe, TTNG, Floral...
>>
>>71327455
wow i didnt know you could put so much aids on a flyer
>>
>>71324912
going this too such a good festival and so hype for Pet Sounds live
>>
>>71325519
tfw didnt go see GYBE! when they were there even tho i only live 90 mins away and my friends went :(
>>
>>71327559
Will probably be more of that to go under EiTS, 28 bands being announced on Friday I think.

around 20-30 names to be added

Houston here. Not bothering with FPSF because the lineup is shit and it's too fucking hot here in the summer. Although, I did take rhe plunge and got my blind presale Day For Night tickets for $100 but that's not until December.

Last year's lineup was too good.
>>
>>71326464
did shkreli not retire the Wu-Tang?

I'm the guy going alone.

I've never done a festival, yet a concert alone. I think it'll be fine. I really like the acts and I generally interact with people around me anyways. I just wish my friends weren't poor or had more similar taste to me.
>>
>>71327282
>>71327430
hell, maybe I'll go for it! cheers guys!
>>
>>71324912
Holy goof being there will be fun
>>
>>71327352
Days one and two look good. Rest is meh. Can't wait for ganja white night desu
>>
>>71328193
How the fuck are Evanescence still able to headline? They should have faded to nothing with Hoobastank and TheRasmus.
>>
>>71327715
2015 was their best lineup by far. Absolutely godly weekend of music.
2013 probably would have been close on paper had it not been for the flood. Still dying for them to reinvite a bunch of cancelled acts.

Yeah I'm not going for them lol. Wanted to see baroness for a long time now. Was supposed to see them last year but then some terrorists blew up in my countries main airport so they cancelled.

Probably the best of the Canadian ones, I'm pretty excited.

Check out Nelsonville, only half the lineup's out right now but they've got a lot of quality acts.

Forecastle isn't too far if you're in southern Ohio too. If you're into electronic there's >>71328471

>>71329296
I hate the headliners but that's a damn fine undercard
