When I think about post-hardcore, I'm imagining something like this

and they can't think of post-hardcore as not being a joke/bastardized pop offshoot of hardcore

maybe its just a diverse genre thats evolved and gotten broader over time, punk has always taken from pop influences since they ripped off 50s rock n roll, its not against the rules or anything. Post hardcore is actually meant to not sound exactly the same as every underground hardcore act from the eighties
