I met a girl who listened to Soul, Southern Rock and Rhythm & Blues, but was open minded.
Throughout the time we've been together I got her into lots of Free Improvisation and Avant-Garde Classical which she really enjoys; she downloaded lots of those works on her phone and asks for recommendations.

One of my advices for /mu/ is, don't "hide" your taste when subject is brought up, I am confident on it.

once I realized that 99% of people do not share the same music taste or attitude towards music that I do, I stopped being picky about looking for friends/companions with "good taste." If you browse /mu/ you're probably just going to alienate everyone you talk to the second you start talking about the music you really enjoy so you might as well just avoid doing that unless you know said person is open to new music or has decent enough taste.

No, but I keep an open mind to their tastes and often end up discovering new music from them, even if it's something I never would've listened to previously. I guess the only dealbreaker would be if they weren't open minded towards my taste in return.
