tell us your path through the genres of music
for me personally
rap (2006-2013) -> alt rock, macdemarco and shit like that (2013-2014) -> really specific harsh noise surf rock music that was usually from france and also trap music (2014-2016) -> trap and avant garde noise music (2016-now)
test
<2010 --> before I liked music for music's sake. linkin park, green day, 3 days grace
2011 --> discover brostep, mainly on that excision vibe
2013 --> deeper dubstep, some ambient music and other styles of UK stuff. was a v. early fan of Disclosure.
2014 --> musical awakening. Squarepusher, Twin, Mistabishi, Jon Hopkins, Burial. discovered some of my fave music that year.
2015 --> inexplicably /mu/-corey. Discovered American Football, Brand New, Oneohtrix.
2016-2017 --> too much hip-hop for my own good thanks to the fucked-up algorithms in Spotify Discover Weekly. Government Plates, grime, Peckham/SE-london/KingKrule/beatmaker-core, Burial, UK synthpop, Kaytranada, lo-fi house, carmack. I've also got a love-hate relationship with mumble rap
Dadrock -> Nu metal -> Bad punk -> Good punk -> Post-rock -> Indie rock
