Any Bands in your town enjoy any kind of success?
Sepultura
Sarcofago
that's it I guess, if we're talking worldwide famous
No, only plebs live in Urban areas
DEVO
>>71248385
Enjoy going to a local live show to see the local coverband play Journey and Cinderella
>>71248554
Ah ah fuck ahahaha fuck yeah right up in that shit right up in it
>>71248284
Ready for the World is a big deal if you're black and of a certain age.
Dayton Family is a big deal if you're black and of a younger certain age.
>>71248284
did you go to the third man records opening by any chance
Train
Dan Briggs of BTBAM
that's about it
Shawn Mullins who you may know from his hit song lullaby is from where ive lived most my life and plays here often and collective soul is from my hometown my aunt lived a couple houses down
>>71250138
So you from Flint?
I've only heard "So High" from Dayton Family but that shit is pretty fire desu.
The Mars Volta and At The Drive In only notable bands.
Everyone likes being edgy over here.
I'm from Boston, so Mission of Burma
>>71248284
Child Bite is a very amazing Detroit band in case you haven't heard them. They had probably the most relevant punk album last year.
I'm from Australia , so no.
>>71251745
But what about Thee Oh Sees cover band from Australia that gets memed on here?
>>71251713
>relevant
>band no one has heard of
I went to the same school as the guy from The Knife (though not at the same time).
I'm not a fan of the Gothenburg music scene but there's a lot of popular music from here.
>tfw i used to listen to this when i was a teenager

Fucking scatman John was born in my city
https://youtu.be/Hy8kmNEo1i8
>>71251786
1. That's not what relevant means
2. They are known anyways
3. Name a more relevant punk album last year
Fall Out Boy is the only thing of relevance to come out of my town
>>71248284
Guayaquil. Not any big acts, but we've had some great bands. This one just broke up.

>>71251857
Oh wow so you're from the ninth circle of hell?
>>71251905
What?
>>71251939
He's being hilarious can't you tell?
>>71251939
It's a joke
>>71251953
I don't get it, I think there's supposed to be a joke in it, I can't find it
>>71251745
Cunt, get learned. Plenty of Australian artists have found international acclaim.
Imagine Dragons & the Killers :(
>>71251842
If nobody knows who a band is they're not relevant
>>71251979
The Killers had a few good songs
>IT STARTED OUT WITH A KISS
>HOW DID IT END UP LIKE THIS
Matt DeMacro
>too young to fully understand his influence upon my city
>>71252048
nah both are trash but killers are slightly less worse
>>71252041
No that means they're not famous. Besides I'm talking about an album specifically not a band in general.
>>71252286
You're severely confused on what relevant means. 18th century customs aren't relevant because no one practices them. The band you like isn't relevant because no one's heard of them.
I live in urban Florida, not a big enough city for bands but not a small enough city for cool local cities. It sucks.
THE CURE
Buddy Holly, Meatloaf and one chick from Dixie Chicks
>joys of living in West Texas
Pinner.
Theres a couple bands that could be discovered and possible liked on mu, dont want to be a shill so I wont post them right now
>>71248284
I'm sure there are others, but nobody as "successful" as him
>>71252704
possibly*
Le Dack for sure, the definition of hometown heroes
The Violent Femmes. That's it really
>>71252732
Also a pretty good band metal band called 7 Angels 7 Plagues that I wonder if anyone else has heard of
>>71252597
Table manners are not analogous to art history
A band could release an extremely famous album last year and even be topical but still be musically irrelevant
>>71248284
Sturgill Simpson
>>71252947
This is like talking to a brick wall
>>71253016
Because you're a pleb
>>71253064
Or because you're fucking stupid. One of the two.
Washington is a big 'un.
My city of Tacoma notably has the Ventures, Neko Case, The Wailers, the Sonics, and my small-time favorite Night Beats.
My uncle saw Nirvana's fourth or fifth show in 1988 at some spot in south Tacoma. My old man saw the Butthole Surfers in 1991 at Portland Oregon's Fox theater. Said the strobe lights should not have been facing away from the band.
My buddy played the piano on this Night Beats tune, he said playing one note near continuously for 7 minutes with a shitty dummer and bassist sucked ass: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4VWihXd5Wc
I lived in a house down the street from the address listed on the back of spiderland.
>>71253104
>One of the two.
Well thanks for conceding the possibility that you're a massive pleb.
From northern VA, so I'll go with Pentagram.
I'm from Chicago so quite a few bands have enjoyed and achieved success and fame!
Four Year Strong
Used to go to their annual holiday shows in middle school. Hardcore / pop-punk was the shit back then, and they did both
Also, the Hotelier
Purity Ring, Mac DeMarco, kd Lang, the person who did that awful Peter Pan song that was vaguely popular a year back.
The Doors
Beach Boys
Zappa
too many to name famiglia
Lorde, I guess
Tame Impala and Pendulum/Knife Party
Matt Snyder
C. Hendricks
Nag Freeze
Glass Ass Jeremy
>>71248284
Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin is from nearby
Also got:
Black Sabbath
Slade
Goldie
Judas Priest
ELO
Duran Duran
Ocean Colour Scene
That's about all I can think
Oasis.
Mostly just Guy Lombardo and Justin Bieber
