I'm auditioning to a school for jazz voice and I need a jazz song to sing in addition to a classical piece I've already chosen. Does anyone have any suggestions for Bass/Baritone voice? I like jazz that is a bit more out there, stuff like John Zorn. Thanks :)

how baritone are we talking here

That's a great track, but I'm ideally looking for something a little less traditional. On the lower end of baritone, close to a bass.
Is it feasible for you to do Abbey Lincoln's vocal parts from Max Roach's album We Insist! but maybe an octave or two down?
my funny valentine :^)

I can only really think of tom waits unfortunately, bass jazz vocalists are few and far between let alone with more experimental composition
this any better?

That's a good song too, I should listen to more of his stuff. I'll consider performing it too if I can't find anything a bit more experimental.
