I love this album but the lyrics are pretty cringe.

I now enjoy the lyrics somewhat ironically, but I still feel they could have gone for someone more mature, especially considering how well instrumented the whole album is and how moving the music by itself can be.

The power/speed metal band Sonata Arctica are great at making music, but god damn, they can't write for shit. their song "What Did You Do In The War, Dad?" is cringey and melodramatic as all hell. they also frequently use weird or out of place phrases that really spoil the immersion in their music.
