6 tracks are ready and finished, now I'm working on the final 4. Lyrics are still stopping me from finishing them though. Both for doing the vocals and for even writing lyrics anymore.
Good morning bandcamp

Very cool, some of it reminds me of 80s industrial stuff and even slight hints of OMD's Dazzle Ships.
https://themopssongs.bandcamp.com/
Posted this in the last thread too. lo-fi folk with double bass. New single has a bit more production, old record was recorded live on cassette.
>>71206354
Lo-fi and very comfy. I think this would be very interesting if recorded in a studio though but don't get me wrong, I still like it lo-fi too.

got a lot of attitude. I like it!
If I could offer a little advice, though. If you guys go slow like on oblivion, your tracks could probably benefit from some more lush production. The raw aesthetic works great on the uptempo cuts, but when things get slow down, there's a lot of space between sounds and most everything going on is really repetitive and it just kind of gets plodding.
not that I don't like it! cause I do :)
>>71207725
Decent dream pop, It gets pretty repetitive as well, though. I'd maybe bring up the guitar during the verse and drop the pad over all. That pad's just really loud compared to everything. OOH, something really bright and sparkly like a glockenspiel with some pingpong delay would probably sound really rad over-top everything.
>>71208034
We will definitely take note of that for our next release. Thank you so much for listening and for your feedback.

i like the style. i think the drum is pretty solid. it does sound multitracked and musically it's underwhelming. i like simplicity. i liked when the drums were muted for final two "i'm your boyfriend" before the fade out. i think maybe muting instruments and shifting focus to diff instruments goes a long way to add interest.
>>71207783
Really love your guy's EP, vocals are dreamy and hit the spot. The Instrumentation is really good, the drumming for "I Had Sex With a Tomsgatchi" is awesome. Oblivion's guitar is comfy. Wish i had some cash to support you guys. Dont stop making music! :) and thank you for the rec !

Oh man I love that, it's rare to find music reminiscent of the ocean and I love it whe I find some. You're really captured the feel perfectly and I like that marimba sound on Ocean. I hope you put out some more stuff with themes.

Nice voice, makes me want to drink a stolen 40 in the bathroom of a supermarket and then cry. Also guitars come into the song really well.

You need to work on the mix. The kick is lacking and could use more presence. There are some interesting tones there but with a good mix it can be much better!
>>71208963
REALLY interesting sound design. I think the use of samples is excellent. Some tracks I wish I could add some drums to just because I think it would be awesome to just jam out to but the whole thing works the way it is. Favorite is Waterfall. Least favorite is Rain.
>>71208608
Really like this recording. Feel like I'm listening to a live performance in a venue which is nice. The main guitar part reminds me of Interpol, and the interplay between the bassline and the main riff is definitely Interpol-y. Adding some lyrics on top of this would be excellent.

You seem skilled but this is boring as fuck
usually don't criticize this harsh in these kind of threads but this is bland as fuck
30 years down the line when sampling kitzchy pop music from the 2010s is the big fad in hip-hop some hack producer is gonna think this album is a goldmine though

Sorry man. My bassist wants this to be a charity album so all the proceeds go the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. If I were in charge of the label, I'd make it name your price and keep the proceeds.
But hey, you get an 8-minute bonus track if you purchase, so if that won't convince you, I don't know what will. Would you be willing to spend that kind of money on a physical release?
>>71213714
Fuck it, I bought it. Even though I don't care about some native Indian charity, you guys did a pretty good job. Might as well buy this instead of a cheeseburger at McDonalds.

Me again.
I took down an older album of mine a while ago for reasons. I cut out a few of the questionable tracks, re-mastered it and re-released it as an EP. It was one of my earlier works so it is pretty unpolished. Some of you may be interested, though.
