>tfw 2000s nostalgia is already a thing

If you consider early 2000s as an extension of the 90s, then yeah, lots of great art came from that era.
What will we call the 2000s equivalent to vaporwave?

a bigger mistake
>people are nostalgic for ~12 years ago
No way
I'm nostalgic for when good honest rock bands existed. Now the media just pushes and praises generic pop and rap trash because it's created by a black person while if the same music is created by a white person it is ignored. For example how would Taylor swift and Lana del Rey be treated if they were black? While Beyoncé is hailed as this generations mozart for what reason?
anyone oldfag here?

taylor swift is everywhere dude. in fact more so than beyonce. i could name 3 taylor songs even though ive literally never sat down and listened to her music. i dont think i could name one beyonce song.

Yes but pitchfork refuses to even review her albums and she is critically trashed while black artists who make the same generic pop are critically acclaimed everywhere and placed as best album of the year and so on.

I'm nostalgic for the optimistic 2000s like when everyone thought Al Gore was going to win.
Trance, progressive breaks, cinematic orchestrations, all the stuff that sort of vanished after Bush's victory and 9/11.
