The Circle Game was a song my parents sung to me a lot when I was a kid. Sentimental points, but still an amazing song

I first discovered that song this year, as a directionless 20-year-old man. It was one of the few times when I was truly overwhelmed by a musical piece. Joni Mitchell knew how to write lyrics.

Good song, she wrote that in response to Neil Young's Sugar Mountain.

I'm usually indifferent to lyrics. Joni is one of the few where the lyrics work as powerfully as the sonic affect and make it all hit me that much harder.
Probably my favorite lyricist, actually, in that she's probably one of the only artists who can sing about personal things and I care. I guess Stevie Nicks does so too. Otherwise I'm getting it all from the music feeling and don't even notice that the lyrics might match the tone until later.

She'll be fine
I'm so glad Joni shut down the idea of a Taylor Swift-casted biopic of her.
