If your definition of 'classic' has a popular-critical component to it, then idk how it's even arguable that it's not.
'Classic' ≠ 'best'
The term "modern classic" contradicts itself. For something to be a classic it has to stand the test of time and also be influential for decades to come. Personally I think it needs at LEAST 10 years to age before it should be considered a "classic"

this is what makes it so great. i find it to be more accessible to people who don't even listen to rap than to people who actually do, weirdly. like it or not, it'd hard to deny that it's the most bold, groundbreaking, and meticulously crafted record in the hip-hop genre.
